The funnel-shaped hopper has a wide upper and narrow lower structure, which makes full use of the principle of gravity. This shape is suitable for granular and powdered materials with good fluidity, ensuring smooth material fall and reducing residue in the hopper.
For example, when packaging potato chips in the food industry and processing certain powdered additives in the chemical industry, the funnel hopper can effectively ensure the continuous supply of materials and avoid the occurrence of clogging.
The prism-like hopper usually takes on the shape of a cuboid or cube, and its corners are often rounded. This shape of the hopper is easier to achieve a compact layout in the arrangement of multiple scales, making full use of equipment space. Moreover, the prismatic hopper is suitable for some material handling scenarios that require specific blanking directions or have regular requirements for the hopper space.

For example, when dealing with certain flammable and explosive fine chemical materials, engineering plastic hoppers can effectively prevent static electricity to avoid safety accidents.
To minimize the resistance between the material and the hopper's interior surface, the interior surface of the hopper is often smoothed. The smoothed interior surface is as sleek as glass, which facilitates the material's descent, particularly for materials with greater stickiness. For instance, when handling viscous products like honey and jam in the food sector, smoothing the hopper's interior surface can efficiently prevent the material from sticking to the hopper's interior, ensuring the precision and consistency of the material flow.
For some special materials that are easy to adhere, in addition to polishing, a special anti-stick coating will be applied to the inner wall of the hopper. This coating can further reduce the material adhesion, ensuring that the hopper can maintain good blanking performance after multiple uses.
